On Friday, March 23, 2012, I attended the rally against the Obamacare mandates that attacked the First Amendment liberties of our citizens. It was at the south side of the State Capitol in Indianapolis. I was one of about a dozen speakers who were scheduled for the event that started at noon on that day. I was one of the last speakers. So, I was able to observe the crowd and the other speakers as the rally progressed.
All the speakers were fine. Some of them read statements from prepared remarks and some spoke extemporaneously. It was a rainy and somewhat cold day. I saw hundreds of umbrellas that each covered one or more people from the rain. I saw families with small children in strollers or in the arms of the parents.
I was honored to share this experience with these wonderful people who attended this event to stand against the tyranny of Obamacare and its attack on our liberties in the Bill of Rights.
When my turn came to speak, I realized that these people had stood in the rain for over an hour. I did not want to make them stand in the rain much longer. I couldn’t. I respected them and the sacrifice of time, effort, and discomfort which they had already made that day.
So, I cut my remarks short by telling the remaining crowd of 300 or so that I had spent much time to prepare my remarks, but that I had decided to cut my time short and just speak from my heart because I did not want them to stand in the rain much longer. My talk lasted about three minutes or so.
Following is the speech that I had prepared to give that day. I did not give it for the reasons stated. But, the speech is a good representation of the position that I have regarding the nationwide effort to oppose the tyranny of Obamacare.
So, here is my undelivered speech for March 23, 2012. I hope that you like it.

FOR THE RELIGIOUS FREEDOM RALLY AT THE STATE CAPITOL BUILDING IN INDIANAPOLIS
ON FRIDAY, MARCH 23, 2012
Ladies and gentlemen, today, March 23, 2012 is a historic day in our nation’s history.
Today is a historic day because you and I and thousands of our fellow countrymen are meeting by public buildings of government all over our nation to demand that President Obama, his supporters in the Congress, and his supporters in any office of the federal government cease the federal government’s attack on the First Amendment right of freedom of religion.
You will be able to tell your children, your grandchildren, your nieces and nephews, and others that you were here at the State Capital of Indiana on the historic day of March 23, 2012. You will be able to say that you were one of the patriotic Americans who demanded that the federal government respect your constitutional rights, your neighbor’s constitutional rights, and everyone’s constitutional rights.
Today, we have come together to demand that the federal government stop its attack on those who have a religious belief that cooperating, supporting, or paying for abortion, euthanasia, sterilization, or other objectionable things is morally wrong and against their religious liberty.
Any demand by the federal government that citizens cooperate with the new mandates from the federal department of Health and Human Services is both wrong and unconstitutional.
The preamble to the Bill of Rights when it was offered to the States for ratification specifically stated that each and every element of the Bill of Rights was intended as a restriction on any power which the federal government might otherwise have under the United States Constitution.
So, the First Amendment right of freedom of religion was intended to restrict federal powers.
When a President, a Senator, a Congressman, or a federal employee takes an oath for their position with the federal government, they swear that they will protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies both foreign and domestic.
It seems that President Obama and all of his allies in the House and the Senate did not take their oaths seriously.
What should we say of someone who does not take such an oath seriously?
We should call such a person a LIAR because that person pledged an oath with no intention to respect the oath.
We should call such a person a THIEF because that person took an oath falsely to obtain money from the U.S. Treasury in the form of a paycheck.
We should call such a person an ENEMY of our constitution and our constitutional rights because lying to rob the treasury and gain government power to harm our constitution and our constitutional rights makes that person an enemy of our constitution, our people, and our nation.
What will be next from the president who said in an interview that people who stand for our constitution are his enemies? Will President Obama and his allies in the Senate and the House next tell us that our right to peacefully assemble and petition the government for a redress of grievances is gone? Will President Obama and his allies in the Senate and the House next target for elimination the right to reasonable bail, or freedom of the press, or the right not to be a slave?
Oh, wait! Threatening to fine or jail people that do not want to support abortion, euthanasia, or other things because of objections based on their religion or their conscience IS THE BEGINNING A NEW KIND OF SLAVERY IN WHICH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS THE MASTER.
BARRACK OBAMA AND HIS ALLIES IN CONGRESS SEEK TO START AND IMPOSE A NEW SLAVERY ON AMERICA.
IT IS THE SAME KIND OF BIG GOVERNMENT SLAVERY THAT COMMUNISTS SUPPORT.
IT IS THE SAME KIND OF BIG GOVERNMENT SLAVERY THAT FASCISTS SUPPORT.
IT IS THE SAME KIND OF BIG GOVERNMENT SLAVERY THAT NAZIS SUPPORT.
By now, some of you must think that I am a Pro-Life Republican. I’m not.
I’m a Pro-Life Democrat!
In fact, I really am a Democrat because I respect life; I respect our constitution; and, I respect everyone’s constitutional rights. I am a real American Democrat!
Barrack Obama and our Congressman Andre Carson are not real American Democrats because they don’t respect life; they don’t respect our constitution; and, they don’t respect the constitutional rights of anyone that they regard as an enemy.
Barrack Obama and Andre Carson are not Democrats. They are DESPOTCRATS!
Since there may be some Obama and Carson supporters here today, I’ll spell that for them.
DESPOTCRAT. D – E – S – P – O – T – C – R – A – T. DESPOTCRAT.
They are DESPOTCRATS because they support despotism and regard the supporters of constitutional liberties and constitutional government as their enemies.
If Obama and Carson are enemies of our constitution and our constitutional rights, then they SHOULD regard us as their enemies.
WHEN THEY REFER TO US AS THEIR ENEMIES, WE SHOULD WEAR THAT LABEL WITH PRIDE AS A BADGE OF HONOR.
Around the time of the Civil War, the abolitionist Frederick Douglas warned that those who have power will not release it without a struggle.
So, expect resistance from those in power who want to impose slavery in a new and disguised form.
Get ready for a struggle.
Resolve in your mind and heart that a struggle is coming and that you will join with others to fight for constitutional liberties.
To be sure that we win this struggle, we must continue to be both dreamers and doers.
You and I are both dreamers and doers.
We dream of a day when everyone in the federal government respects life, respects our constitution, and respects our constitutional rights.
We are doers because we are here today, joining with our countrymen in other locations throughout America to dedicate ourselves to the struggle ahead to fight for freedom of religion and all the other constitutional liberties that we hold so dear.
One of the things which we must do in this year’s elections is defeat every Senator and every Congressman who voted for the final Obamacare bill without even reading it first.
Do you remember that Nancy Pelosi said that the Members of Congress would learn what was in the bill after they voted on it? I remember that. When I heard that, I wrote an article in which I said that Nancy Pelosi should be called Nazi Pelosi because that name would fit her so well.
Every Senator and Congressman who voted for the Obamacare bill without first reading the two thousand plus page document was irresponsible and derelict in every duty to the people and the Constitution.
It was their duty to study the bill to make sure that there was no violation of our constitution, our constitutional rights, or any other problem in the bill before they voted on it.
Because they voted for the final Obamacare bill without first reading it, studying it, and discussing it, they have proven that they can not be trusted with any government position because they failed to even attempt to abide by their oath of office to protect our constitution and our constitutional rights.
Andre Carson (and any other Member of Congress who voted for Obamacare before reading it) deserves to be expelled from Congress in this year’s elections.
Some may ask how I, as a Democrat, can call for the eviction of so many Democrats from the Congress. It is because I am an American before I am a Democrat. I want people in office whom I can trust to faithfully discharge their duties under the oath of office that they took. Anyone who votes for a bill without first reading it can not be trusted with any government power!
America needs its President and every Member of Congress to respect life, respect our constitution, and respect everyone’s constitutional rights. We don’t have that now.
I told you that I am a dreamer and a doer. Let me tell you something that I am doing to help accomplish the dream that we share.
I am challenging Andre Carson in the Democratic primary this May 8 to become the nominee of the Democratic Party for Congressman for Indiana District Seven.
Let me remind you that I am a real American Democrat who respects life, respects our constitution, and respects everyone’s constitutional rights.
Andre Carson disagrees with me on those matters.
Today, March 23, 2012 is a historic day in our nation’s history because you, I, and many other patriots around the country have joined together to make this day a historic day.
I am Woodrow Wilcox. Thank you for your time and attention.
