AN UNRELIABLE SYSTEM

On Thursday, November 12, 2015, I received papers about a medical bill problem of the wife of a retired doctor who lives in Porter County, Indiana.

There were 8 claims on 4 bills from 3 hospitals – one in Illinois and two in Indiana. All the claims had problems. If I had not helped the client, the client would have had to pay almost $1,100 in medical bills that she did not owe.

It is situations such as this one that caused me to write the book SOLVING MEDICARE PROBLEM$. I am only one person and I can help only so many people. Before I wrote the book, I estimated that bad medical billing in the Medicare system was costing senior citizens in America over one billion dollars a year in medical bills that they really did not owe.

When I give public presentations on how the Medicare system works, or does not work, and how I help the clients of the insurance agency where I work, I finish the presentation with my opinion of the Medicare system. It was not designed to help senior citizens with medical bills. It was designed to put billions of dollars per year into the pockets of government employees and government contractors. It does that job very well.

Note: Woodrow Wilcox is the senior medical bill case worker at Senior Care Insurance Services in Merrillville, Indiana. He has saved clients of that insurance agency over one million dollars by fighting medical bill mistakes and fraud. He wrote the book SOLVING MEDICARE PROBLEM$.
