In July 2015, a client from Crown Point brought to me a bill from Mayo Clinic for $2,388.92. He wanted to know why he got the bill since he had both Medicare and a Medicare supplement insurance policy through our insurance agency.
I investigated the matter, found the problem, and wrote to the Mayo Clinic for our client.
The client got the good news that the bill had been fixed and paid. But, he forgot to tell me that.
I wrote to him earlier this year and asked him if the matter had been resolved or if he still needed my help. I told him that a hospital or doctor will respond to the patient and not to me.
On July 8, 2016, the client visited our office, told me that the bill was corrected, and apologized for not informing me of that sooner. The bottom line is that we saved the client $2,388.92.
All the help that I gave this client was FREE OF CHARGE. This insurance agency distinguishes itself by “going the extra mile” for our clients. Does your insurance agent or agency give this high level of service to senior citizen clients? If not, why not?
